Lion’s Mane is a large white mushroom that naturally grows on hardwood trees and has been used in traditional medicine for centuries. In a double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled crossover trial published in Nutrients, researchers evaluated the short-term cognitive and mood effects of a single 1,000 mg dose of MycoThrive™ Lion’s Mane mushroom extract found in Logic, in healthy adults.
The study was designed to assess attention, working memory, mental processing speed, and overall mood. Participants received one of three treatments in separate sessions: 1,000 mg of MycoThrive™ Lion’s Mane, 650 mg of guayusa extract, or a placebo. Cognitive testing was conducted at three points: before dosing, and again 60 and 120 minutes after ingestion, to capture the acute effects of each formula.
Results showed that those who took MycoThrive™ Lion’s Mane found in Logic experienced significant gains in working memory, concentration, and reaction time compared to placebo, along with meaningful improvements in mood and subjective well-being. Results of the clinical study found a 6x increase in mental processing speed compared to placebo, 400% improvement in reaction speed compared to placebo, a 10% enhancement in cognitive performance, and approximately 4x improvement in in mood and feelings of happiness compared to placebo – all in just 120 minutes.
